Pronti a scoprirlo insieme?

Today I want to take you to discover a very special place in my Campania, a real gem for all history lovers.
Have you ever heard of Pietrarsa Railway Museum? Ready to discover it together?

Nestled between the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, in a stunning place, the Railway Museum is located in the Royal Pietrarsa Opificio Mechanic, ancient place of repair of locomotives founded by Ferdinand II of Bourbon in 1840.

This beautiful museum offers a real trip back in time: get ready to admire the ancient locomotives that have united Italy, to get on those trains that have been protagonists of the history of this country.

You will find, in fact, the Bayard locomotive, which in 1839 crossed the first railway section of Italy, the "Naples-Portici", carrying the royal family; the first steam locomotives, the "Littorine" of the Fascist era, the carriage number 10 of the Royal Train, which later became Presidential, built for the wedding of Umberto II of Savoy; a former coach for the transport of prisoners and much more.
The tour takes place in the halls of this old factory that, in addition to hosting a large number of these locomotives, shows photos, old machines and more related to the history of the Italian railways.
