Nonostante il tragico evento causato dal maestoso e imponente Vesuvio, ci sono pervenute diverse testimonianze di insediamenti romani presenti in questa incantevole area: accanto alle famose città di Pompei ed Ercolano e alle diverse e lussuose ville d'otium presenti in vari comuni dell'area (come le ville di Oplonti e di Stabia), estremamente affascinante e particolare è la presenza, nell'odierno comune di Boscoreale, di una "villa rustica".

Despite the tragic event caused by the majestic and imposing Vesuvius, we have received several testimonies of Roman settlements in this beautiful area: next to the famous city of Pompeii and Herculaneum and the luxurious leisure villas located in various municipalities (as the villas of Oplonti and Stabia), extremely charming and special is the presence, in today's town of Boscoreale, of a "villa rustica".

CAMPANIA FELIX: LE VILLE DI STABIA

E' veramente un peccato che solo in pochi, passando per Castellammare di Stabia, dedichino una visita all'ennesimo fiore all'occhiello di una splendida regione come la Campania: gli scavi archeologici di Stabia.
Si tratta dei resti dell'antica Stabiae, luogo di villeggiatura in epoca romana, famoso per le sue lussuose ville residenziali finemente decorate, di cui solo una piccola parte è stata riportata alla luce.

Oggi, a pochi giorni dal mio compleanno, ho ricevuto un regalo davvero speciale: questa deliziosa caricatura (che mi ritrae insieme alle mie grandi passioni) è opera del bravissimo Fulvio Farina, autore e disegnatore di 'PompeiItaly Junior', un bellissimo progetto che vuole raccontare la storia di Pompei ai ragazzi.

Today, a few days before my birthday, I received a very special gift: this delightful caricature (which shows me with my great passions) is the work of the very talented Fulvio Farina, author and illustrator of 'PompeiItaly Junior', a beautiful project that wants to tell the story of Pompeii to the kids.
