VALENCIA: COSA VEDERE E DOVE DORMIRE NELLA BELLA CITTA' SPAGNOLA

Ultima tappa del mio tour spagnolo di questa estate, Valencia mi ha letteralmente conquistato!

Terza città della Spagna dopo Madrid e Barcellona, Valencia è una città vivace ed elegante, una vera perla tutta da scoprire.

Last stop of my Spanish tour of this summer, Valencia has literally conquered me!

Third city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia is a vibrant and elegant city, a real pearl to discover.

La vera essenza della città è sicuramente il suo centro storico, così grazioso e raccolto, perfetto anche per una visita di pochi giorni. 

Con i suoi colori caldi e la sua delicata bellezza, l'antica Valencia vi lascerà senza fiato: perdersi tra gli stretti violetti dal fascino antico, tipici delle città spagnole, è un’emozione unica. 

Le cose da vedere, poi, non mancano. Imperdibili sono sicuramente la Cattedrale, in cui si dice sia conservato il Santo Graal, che con la sua torre offre un meraviglioso panorama sul centro storico; la Lonja, emblema dell’età d’oro di Valencia ed ex palazzo di cultura e del commercio (di notevole bellezza, è parte del Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Unesco dal 1996); il vivace Mercato Centrale, che oltre a presentare prelibatezze di ogni tipo risulta essere un vero gioiello architettonico: le sue vetrate colorate e le facciate dipinte a mano sono davvero uniche; le antiche porte cittadine, che avrete modo di ammirare durante le vostre passeggiate in questa deliziosa città.

The true essence of the city is certainly its historic center, so graceful and beautiful, perfect for a few days.

With its warm colors and its beauty, the ancient Valencia will leave you breathless: getting lost in the narrow alleyways, typical of Spanish cities, is a unique experience.

Things to see, then, are not lacking. Unmissable are the Cattedrale, where is said to be preserved the Saint Graal, which with its tower offers a marvelous view over the historic center; the Lonja, emblem of the Golden Age of Valencia and former cultural palace (it is part of the Unesco World Heritage since 1996); the lively Central Market, which, besides presenting delicacies of all kinds, represents a true architectural gem: its colorful windows and hand-painted facades make it really special; the ancient city gates, which you will be able to admire during your walks in this delightful city.

Non molto distante dal centro, poi, merita sicuramente una visita la Città delle Arti e delle Scienze, opera del grande architetto Calatrava, che ospita il museo delle scienze, un teatro e il famoso Oceanografic, il bellissimo parco marino, in grado di incantare grandi e piccini.

Ma non finisce qui. Valencia è una città molto giovane e vivace: preparatevi quindi a mostre ed eventi culturali per tutti i gusti!

Not far from the center, it is worth a visit to the City of Arts and Sciences, the work of the great architect Calatrava, which houses the Science Museum, a theater and the famous Oceanografic, the beautiful marine park, able to enchant adults and children.

But it doesn't end here. Valencia is a very young and lively city, so be prepared for exhibitions and cultural events for all tastes!

Se, poi, vi trovate a Valencia nel periodo estivo è d’obbligo almeno una giornata al mare. Valencia ospita infatti spiagge immense dalla sabbia dorata, facilmente raggiungibili dal centro anche con la metro.

Imperdibile è una passeggiata sul mondano lungomare, con tantissimi ristoranti caratteristici in cui gustare la famosa paella valenciana.

If you are in Valencia in the summer, then you must have at least one day at the sea. Valencia is in fact equipped with immense golden sand beaches, easily accessible from the center even with the metro.

Very beautiful is also the Promenade, with many restaurants where to taste the famous paella valenciana.

Non posso parlarvi di questa città senza fare accenno ad un luogo incredibile, davvero unico nel suo genere, dove ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare.
Si tratta del B&B Valencia Mindfullness Retreat, una struttura fantastica posizionata nel cuore dell’antica Valencia.
La passione dei suoi proprietari, Dany e Mateo, nel gestire questa struttura è davvero fuori dal comune, e il loro entusiasmo è incredibilmente contagioso: impossibile non innamorarsi di un luogo così!
Innanzitutto, dimenticate il classico concetto di B&B: al Valencia Mindfullness Retreat vi sentirete parte di una grande famiglia. I due fantastici proprietari vivono insieme ai loro ospiti, e l’atmosfera è così serena e rilassata da rendere addirittura superfluo l’uso delle chiavi della stanza.
La struttura è un vero paradiso per gli amanti dell’interior design, e la cura dei dettagli è tale da lasciare veramente senza parole: le stanze, spaziose e pulitissime, sono piene di pezzi di arredamento pregiati e originali, e ad uso degli ospiti ci sono tutti prodotti di ottima qualità: dalle asciugamani ai fantastici e comodissimi materassi, per non parlare di bibite (compresi vino e champagne) e snack di ogni genere sempre a disposizione degli ospiti (e completamente gratuiti!).

I can not tell you about this city without mentioning an incredible place, really unique, where I had the pleasure of staying.
This is the B&B Valencia Mindfullness Retreat, a fantastic place located in the heart of ancient Valencia.
The passion of its owners, Dany and Mateo, to manage this property is really out of the ordinary, and their enthusiasm is incredibly contagious: you'll surely fall in love with this place!
First of all, forget the classic concept of B&B: at Valencia Mindfullness Retreat you will feel part of a large family. The two great owners live together with their guests, and the atmosphere is so serene and relaxed that even the use of room keys is superfluous.
The structure is a true paradise for lovers of interior design: the care of the details really leaves speechless! 
The rooms, spacious and spotless, are full of precious and original pieces of furniture, and the products for the guests' use are all of great quality: from towels to fantastic and comfortable mattresses, not to mention drinks (including wine and champagne) and snacks always available to guests (and completely free!).

La colazione, poi, merita davvero un capitolo a parte. Oltre alla bellezza della tavola apparecchiata (che sembra appena uscita da una delle più eleganti riviste di design per la casa), ottima è la qualità dei singoli prodotti: dal dolce al salato, passando per la frutta fresca e le gustose marmellate, non troverete niente che non sia squisito!

Inoltre, una colazione di questo tipo, gustata allo stesso tavolo di persone di paesi e lingue differenti, è veramente un’esperienza indimenticabile.

Da non perdere, a mio avviso, è poi la lezione di meditazione che ogni mattina viene offerta a tutti ospiti del B&B: perfetta per prepararsi a una bella visita di Valencia.

Che dire, si tratta di un luogo veramente particolare, studiato per garantire il benessere dei suoi ospiti, e che senza alcun dubbio vi saprà conquistare!

Breakfast, then, really deserves a separate chapter. In addition to the beauty of the table set (beautiful like the tables in the most elegant home design magazines), the quality of the individual products is great: from sweet to salty, through fresh fruits and tasty jams, you will find nothing not delicious!

Also, this wonderful breakfast, tasted at the same table of people from different countries and languages, is truly an unforgettable experience.

Not to be missed, in my opinion, is then the meditation lesson that every morning is offered to all guests of the B&B: nothing better to prepare for a beautiful visit to Valencia.

What to say, this is a really special place, designed to ensure the well-being of its guests, that I strongly recommend!
