Not long ago, I talked about the beautiful Assisi: here is one of the most beautiful places that I visited in this lovely city: the Bosco di San Francesco!
It is, of course, the famous woods where the saint patron of Italy meditated and prayed.

The site is managed by the FAI, an organization which is always a guarantee of quality and care. Admission is by donation, even if the amount recommended is 4 euro (and I recommend you leave them, because the route is really nice!).
Arm yourself with proper shoes and a fresh bottle of water and, without further hesitation, start the adventure!

The walk is very pleasant, the view simple stunning (with the Basilica always visible); you'll walk on carpets of creaking dry leaves, filling your lungs with fresh, uncontaminated air.

On your way you will meet a variety of points of interest: religious statues donated by Franciscan priests; a bridge under which a small river flows (if you want, you can cross it using some boulders placed ad hoc); a mill; a tower-mill; and, a little more than half of the route, to relax and do some extra purchase, a monastery, where the FAI has also located a small restaurant. Finally, the splendid walk ends with the installation of Land Art, "The third heaven", by Michelangelo Pistoletto.

The itinerary is divine: the beautiful landscapes and absolute silence, not only are a feast for the eyes and for all the other senses, but also favor a strictly spiritual relationship with nature, from which you will be surrounded.
The route takes about 2 hours; the difficulty level is not high, but it could create some trouble to those who are not too used to walk. The outward journey is pleasant, the return, however, is a bit weary for the less sporty.

In short, an enchanted place where nature has something magical, a site where you can touch silence and peace on every tree bark, a place where you can clearly hear the crackle of each leaf that creaks.
So, come on, do not be lazy: treat yourself to this beautiful walk!
