DA COPENAGHEN A MALMO: TUTTO IL FASCINO DEL NORD EUROPA

 

Siete pronti per entrare in contatto con una tipica città svedese, dove si respira fortemente tutto lo spirito dei popoli nordici? Se sì, allora, Malmö è il posto che fa per voi!

Malmö non è chiaramente il luogo adatto dove trascorrere una lunga vacanza, ma, tenendo conto dell'estrema vicinanza con Copenhagen, riesce comunque ad avere un discreto numero di turisti.

Arrivarci è semplicissimo: vi basterà prendere, dalla stazione principale di Copenhagen, un treno direzione Helsingborg, e in circa mezz'ora un sms sul vostro cellulare vi avviserà che avete cambiato nuovamente nazione!

Are you ready to get in touch with a typical Swedish town, where you can feel strongly the whole spirit of the Nordic peoples? If yes, Malmö is the place for you!
Malmö is not the ideal place to spend a long vacation, but, as it is really close to Copenhagen, you'll always find a fair number of tourists.
Getting there is very easy: you have to take, from the main station of Copenhagen, a train to Helsingborg, and in about half an hour a text message on your mobile phone will alert you that you have changed the nation again!

Le due città sono collegate da un ultramoderno ponte(impensabili collegamenti del genere, qui in Italia), il ponte di Oresund, che permette il passaggio sia alle macchine che ai treni. Guardando dai finestrini, vi renderete subito conto di quanto questi popoli sfruttino le energie alternative: le file di pale eoliche si estendono oltre l'orizzonte!

Appena arrivati in stazione, il paragone con Copenhagen sarà inevitabile: personalmente, ho sentito fortemente la differenza con l'accogliente città danese; Malmö fa sentire il suo visitatore meno a casa, gli si offre più fredda, più distaccata(quest'osservazione non è da prendere in senso negativo per Malmö, ma solo come un plauso spellapalmi alla strepitosa capitale danese!).

The two cities are connected by an ultra-modern bridge, the Oresund Bridge, for cars and trains. Looking out the windows, you will immediately see how these people take advantage of the alternative energy: the rows of wind turbines extend beyond the horizon!
Arrived at the station, the comparison with Copenhagen will be inevitable: personally, I felt strongly the difference with the cozy Danish city; Malmö is colder, more detached.

Il centro storico di Malmö è piccolo ma carino, una giornata sarà più che sufficiente per vedere tutte le cose principali.

Noterete subito, avviandovi verso il centro, la strana costruzione che si staglia all'orizzonte: si tratta del Turning Torso, uno strabiliante grattacielo formato da nove cubi che ruotano su se stessi, con una torsione di 90° dalla base alla cima: insomma, uno dei tanti esempi della folle architettura moderna(non ci si può entrare visto che ci sono uffici e alloggi)!

The old town of Malmö is small but nice, a day is enough to see all the main things.
Immediately you'll notice, going to the city center, a strange building on the horizon: it is the Turning Torso, a stunning skyscraper of nine cubes that rotate on themselves, with a twist of 90 ° from the base to the top: in short, one of the many examples of modern architecture (you can not enter because there are offices and accommodation)!

Il centro vero e proprio è composto da tre piazze: lo Stortgoret(la piazza grande), il Lilla Torg e la Gustav Adolf Torg, tra le quali corrono le strade principali dello shopping e del passeggio.

Nella Stortgoret troviamo i punti più interessanti: la facciata del rifinito municipio e la statua di Re Carlo X Gustavo di Svezia. Vi consiglio anche di raggiungere il vicino, immenso parco (Slottsparken), per un senso unico di relax e calma. Inoltre, vale una breve capatina anche la chiesa di San Pietro, in stile gotico e con un'alta torre, una delle poche presenti in città(come in tutti i paesi nordici, il numero di chiese è veramente limitato).

Girate a caso tra queste vie, ammirando la particolare commistione di passato e presente dell'architettura dei palazzi, confondendovi con la gente del posto(quando ci sono stata io, in città c'era un importante festival di musica e si respirava una rifocillante aria di festa).

The center is composed of three squares: the Stortgoret (the big square), the Lilla Torg and Gustav Adolf Torg.
In Stortgoret there are the most interesting points: the facade of the city hall and the statue of King Charles X Gustav of Sweden. I suggest you also reach the nearby, huge park (Slottsparken), for a unique sense of relaxation and calm. Also, don't miss the church of St Peter, in the Gothic style and with a high tower, one of the few in the city (as in all the Nordic countries, the number of churches is very limited).
Walk along these streets, admiring the particular mix of the past and present architecture of the palaces, having fun with the locals (when I was there, in the city there was an important music festival-very funny!).

Quando avrete consumato a dovere le suole delle vostre scarpe, tornando verso la stazione, appena un po' fuori dal centro storico, troverete il carino Castello di Malmö(Malmohus). Oltre poter visitare le stanze della tenuta(usata anche come carcere), troverete alcuni interessanti musei: un acquario, un museo di storia, uno di moda, e altre piccole chicche.

E così ha termine questo piccolo giro della città svedese, una meta ideale per poter mettere a confronto le atmosfere di Copenhagen con quelle dei luoghi vicini.

Un pomeriggio a Malmö, in ogni caso, è straconsigliato: una piccola immersione nel più puro e incontaminato spirito nordico!

Finally, in the same direction of the the station, just a little outside the historic center, you will find the cute Malmö Castle (Malmohus), where you can visit not only the rooms of the estate (also used as a prison), but also interesting museums: an aquarium, a museum of history, one of fashion, and more.
And in this way, this little tour of the Swedish city ends. This place is perfect to compare the atmosphere of Copenhagen with those of nearby places.
